With the match rearranged multiple times due to weather and then the world cup final, the game finally went ahead.
The game was contested as both a league and Cup double header with the winner due to play Chorley in the next round.
Broughton Started the game receiving the kickoff, with the Lee Francis attempting to receive the ball, he managed to knock the ball backwards, regather the ball, but then lost in forward in the tackle. Wigan's head and feed at the scrum, there number 8 picked up from the scrum and with hands out to the wing scored in the corner.
Broughton came back with a well worked Lineout try in the corner scored by the hooker Craig Collier, Missed conversion from Jordan Parker. The game was a very broken game with good defense from both teams, but after a break from the Broughton backline, the scene was set after a few more phases for yet another Broughton Try from Callum Hulston, under the sticks, this time converted by Jordan Parker. Jordan then added a cheeky Drop goal, which was then followed by another powerful run by the winger Josh Salmon who finished off the move scoring the try, again converted by Jordan.
The score at half time was 22-5 in favor of Broughton.
The second half started with Wigan on the front foot and managed to convert their pressure with another unconverted try.
Broughton again hit back, with a well poached try from Lee Francis, with the conversion again missed by Jordan Parker. This was the end to the scoring with both sides showing very good defense, and a lot of missed place passing.
